Miracle mornings

Or should we say, MAGICAL mornings!

They are based on the notion that how you start your day is critical for how your day will play out. You know the saying “they got out of the wrong side of bed this morning”? It didn’t become a saying from nothing! If you start your day in a positive way, then you are setting yourself up for success. It’s what sets goal achievers apart from non-goal achievers.

The beauty of the morning is that if you’re up early enough, it can be completely for yourself. Maybe the routine is a bit different for new mums or families, but I’m certain that there are some tips here that you could take into your morning routine. Otherwise, for the rest of us it’s our time. Using it meaningfully will contribute to our health of mind, body & soul.

MIND: Whatever time you go to bed, tell yourself that you’re going to have the GREATEST sleep ever. That you almost can’t wait to wake up for the day to come. Then, while your sleep your subconscious will focus on that feeling and those words, so when the time comes to wake up you will feel ready for the day. Secondly, recite your affirmations in the mirror. Really FEEL them with your heart.

BODY: Do some exercise! Move your body. Stretch. In the magical morning it’s important to get your body moving in some way to pump the blood. Always make sure you drink a glass of water first to re-hydrate, and lastly, create yourself a personal bathroom ritual. From skincare and brushing your teeth, to showering and using the toilet. It can take some time for your body to get used to the new way, but it’s worth the commitment!

SOUL: Get some soul work in before you start your working day. For me, I try to do some writing or listen to podcasts & audiobooks. Depending on which phase I’m in. I like to write down my thoughts. Or I like to sit with a coffee or green tea while listening to mantra chanting music & burning incense while I think about life. If it feels good and fills you up, then you’re on the right track.

Now you’re probably thinking that that sounds like a lot to do in the morning before work. But the more you do it, the stronger the morning rituals become and the more you need them as you’ll start to really feel benefits in your life. When I’m living this morning in my truth, I’m waking up around 05:30. I go for a run, shower, have a coffee in my robe & do my soul work. Then I prepare to head out to work around 08:00. When I leave for work I already feel so accomplished and can fully focus on the day to come as I’m not worrying about anything else. I also often use the mornings to put on washing (pre-run) and hang it up before heading out. Another chore done with minimal effort? Yes please!

I challenge you to create your own miracle morning and stick to it for x1 week. Yes, that includes the weekend.

Good luck!
